David is recognized as one of the leading commercial litigators in the State of Connecticut by his peers and clients.  He has been listed annually in Chambers USA - America's Leading Lawyers for Business, where he has been praised by clients who state that "The quality of his work is superb, his analysis is thoughtful and he knows when to be diplomatic and when to fight."  David recently completed his tenure as Cohen and Wolf’s managing partner after serving in the role for more than a decade.

Commercial Litigation

David serves as the Chair of the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group.  David has years of experience litigating business cases, including shareholder and partnership disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, securities fraud actions, and “bet the company” litigation.  He practices in federal and state courts in Connecticut and handles FINRA and AAA arbitrations.  David frequently serves as lead and local counsel on complex litigation matters, including some of the largest cases in the State.

Energy-Related Litigation

David litigates before state agencies including the Connecticut Siting Council, where he has served as lead counsel representing Connecticut municipalities in connection with numerous controversial applications by Eversource to construct high-powered transmission lines.  Through his years of experience handling these disputes, David is adept at delving into the complexities of power line engineering, and fighting for the rights of Connecticut’s towns and cities.  David also appears before the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority on energy-related matters.

Real Estate Title Claims

David prosecutes and defends real estate title disputes throughout the State of Connecticut, including claims of adverse possession, quiet title, prescriptive easement, and reformation of real estate instruments.

A seasoned trial lawyer with decades of courtroom experience, David prides himself on being a zealous advocate for his clients, willing to try cases to conclusion, while always giving practical advice and guiding clients to achieve the best possible settlements where appropriate.
