Overview

As chair of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group, Mark handles commercial real estate transactions of all kinds, advising owners, investors, developers, purchasers, landlords, tenants, and municipalities, on a variety of real estate matters, including acquisition, financing, leasing, and disposition. His experience runs to all commercial real estate property types, including retail, hospitality, office, industrial, mixed-use and multi-family.

Mark also regularly represents institutional and private lenders, as well as borrowers, in commercial lending transactions, including real estate secured loans and asset-based lending. He has many years of experience representing developers of commercial, residential and mixed-use common interest communities, where, working in close proximity with surveyors and engineers, he prepares the declaration, public offering statement, and other formation documents, and drafts the myriad of rules, covenants and restrictions, and policies, that are needed to ensure that the communities both serve the requirements of his clients, and function effectively and efficiently.

Mark prides himself on effectively managing complicated transactions, involving multiple parties, with many moving parts, and on approaching each project with the attention to detail, and thoroughness, that is required.  He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Real Property Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, and has been recognized as a leading lawyer in Connecticut in the area of Real Estate Law in the 2010-2019 editions of Chambers USA, where he has attracted praise as "a real talent” who is “extremely efficient and very responsive” in his approach.
