Overview
Denise is committed to providing responsive, transparent, and client-centered legal representation in the areas of Trust and Estates and Elder Law. From the outset of every matter, she ensures that clients have a clear understanding of the legal services being provided, the anticipated costs, and the steps involved throughout the process. Denise prioritizes accessibility, prompt communication, and practical guidance. She develops individualized strategies tailored to each client’s unique circumstances and goals.
Denise assists clients in the following practice matters:
- Estate planning, including the drafting and execution of wills, trusts, advance healthcare directives, and powers of attorney;
- Probate matters, including decedents’ estates, conservatorships, testamentary trusts, and guardianships; and
- Elder law matters, including Title XIX applications, asset protection strategies, pooled trusts, and special needs trusts.
After several years as a successful business owner, Denise decided to attend law school to pursue her dream of a legal career. Upon graduating from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2010, she practiced as a Trusts & Estates associate at a Milford, Connecticut law firm until its dissolution in the summer of 2013. At that time, she established her solo practice, The Law Offices of Denise A. Mortati, LLC.
Active in her community, Denise serves an advisory board member for the Connecticut Senior Care Council. She is also a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys and PLAN of Connecticut, a Connecticut-based organization that administers special needs trusts.
