Cohen and Wolf Names Jocelyn B. Hurwitz and Stuart M. Katz as New Co-Managing Partners
The firm is pleased to announce that Jocelyn B. Hurwitz and Stuart M. Katz have been named Co-Managing Partners of Cohen and Wolf, P.C. This appointment marks a historic milestone for the firm, as Attorney Hurwitz becomes Cohen and Wolf’s first female Managing Partner. Their selection reflects a long-standing professional partnership and commitment to the firm, as Attorney Hurwitz and Attorney Katz have practiced together at the firm for 33 years since joining directly out of law school.
Attorney Hurwitz and Attorney Katz succeed Attorney Ari J. Hoffman, who served as Managing Partner from 2021 through 2025. The firm is grateful for Attorney Hoffman’s exemplary leadership and service over the past five years. He will continue to serve the firm as a member of its Executive Committee.
This leadership transition coincides with Cohen and Wolf’s celebration of its 75th Anniversary this year. Founded seventy-five years ago by Herbert L. Cohen and Austin K. Wolf in a single office in Bridgeport, the firm has since grown to more than 50 attorneys across three offices in Bridgeport, Danbury, and Westport.

Attorney Jocelyn B. Hurwitz serves as Chair of the firm’s Family Law Group. She represents clients in court in family law matters ranging from complex financial issues to high conflict custody and parenting issues.
Within the firm, Attorney Hurwitz values mentoring associates and supporting their professional growth through the firm’s Connecting Women @ CW initiative.

Attorney Stuart M. Katz leads the firm’s Employment Counseling & Litigation Group. He represents employers as a counselor and advocate, and also represents professional and executives in matters relating to their employment.
Attorney Katz serves on a number of the firm’s management committees and chairs its Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee.
For seventeen years, he has been ranked by Chambers USA® for Employment Law (2008-2025). Attorney Katz is the only lawyer in Connecticut who has been named "Lawyer of the Year" by the Best Lawyers in America® for representing both Management and Individuals in the area of Employment Law.
