Cohen and Wolf Names Avery Lupia as Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
Cohen and Wolf, P.C. is pleased to announce Avery Lupia as the Firm’s Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. Avery, currently the Firm’s Director of Human Resources, will now serve as the Firm’s Director of Human Resources and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. In this expanded role, Avery will continue to champion the Firm’s ongoing commitment to a diverse and inclusive environment, which is deeply rooted in its history and values.
Ari Hoffman, the Managing Partner of the Firm, stated, “Our firm has done great work in the area of diversity and inclusion over the last few years, and creating a director role to promote these efforts underscores our commitment to progress in this area.”
“I am eager to continue the conversations and practices that espouse Cohen and Wolf’s history and values, which elevate our firm and its commitment to our clients and communities,” commented Avery. “I believe the work in this area is ever-evolving and there is always room for us to grow here—both as an employer and as individuals. I am deeply committed to our employees and to maintaining an inclusive workplace that gives a voice to people from all backgrounds.”
Stuart Katz, Chair of the Firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee commented, “Avery’s role will serve the Committee’s ongoing pledge to create and maintain an environment of inclusion and acceptance, where all voices and views matter and are heard.”
Cohen and Wolf has maintained its long-standing values of inclusion since its inception more than 70 years ago when Herb Cohen and Austin Wolf opened the firm’s doors during a time when many established firms wouldn’t hire a Jewish lawyer. One of the hallmarks of this law firm has been the extraordinary commitment of the Firm and its many lawyers to the communities in which they have lived and practiced.
Avery holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology from the University of New Haven and a SHRM-CP certification.
