Cohen and Wolf Volunteers Support the Connecticut Foodshare Mobile Pantry at St. Vincent’s Medical Center
On Friday, October 30, Cohen and Wolf employees volunteered at the Connecticut Foodshare Mobile Pantry on the St. Vincent's Medical Center campus, distributing food to Bridgeport-area residents in need. Many guests walk or take the bus to reach the pantry.
Together with other community volunteers, we served more than 200 guests. They received fresh produce, including broccoli, celery, melons, and bananas, as well as pantry staples such as pasta, sauce, cereal, and snacks.
St. Vincent's Medical Center offers mobile food distribution every other week through its partnership with Connecticut Foodshare, a member of the Feeding America network of food banks. Connecticut Foodshare and local partners run additional mobile pantries across the state.
“One of the ways Cohen and Wolf is celebrating its 75th anniversary is by giving back and investing in the community that has supported us throughout the years,” explained Attorney Jenna A. Shankman, who spearheaded Cohen and Wolf’s participation in the volunteer event. “It was a privilege to stand alongside colleagues to volunteer at the mobile pantry handing out fresh fruits, vegetables, and other staples to our Bridgeport neighbors. They say it takes a village, and I am so proud to be a part of the Cohen and Wolf ‘village’.”
We are grateful for the experience and sincerely thank Amy Knorr, Director of Special Events at St. Vincent's Medical Center – Hartford HealthCare, and the Cohen and Wolf volunteers who gave their time to set up, distribute food, and clean up at the mobile pantry truck: Kenya Barrett, Jenna Shankman, Casey Jaykus, Breyonnia Duggins, Jocelyn Hurwitz, Kaelyn Mostafa, Nydia Serrano, Steven Begelfer, Madeline Diamont, Judi DeWolfe, and Patricia Sullivan.
