Attorney Emilio A. Estrella Terón and Arterton American Inn of Court Bring Hands-On Legal Learning to Rocky Hill High School Students
Members of the Judge Janet Bond Arterton American Inn of Court, including Cohen and Wolf Attorney Emilio A. Estrella Terón, recently partnered with Rocky Hill High School (RHHS) teachers to bring a hands-on legal learning experience to high school students. Through this program, students examined the real U.S. Supreme Court case Cox Communications v. Sony Music Entertainment and developed argumentative essays on behalf of one side of the case.
In early March, members of the Arterton American Inn of Court visited RHHS classrooms to introduce themselves, outline the assignment, and walk students through the procedural history of the case. The program continued with virtual Q&A sessions mid-March, giving students the opportunity to engage directly with legal professionals. On Friday, March 27, students presented their final arguments to the group.
Attorney Estrella Terón shared that it has been a rewarding opportunity to support the next generation in developing critical thinking, writing, and advocacy skills.
