Susan F. Filan and Marc T. Miller Join Cohen and Wolf
BRIDGEPORT, CT – Cohen and Wolf, P.C., a full-service law firm with four offices in Fairfield and New Haven counties, is pleased to announce that Susan F. Filan and Marc T. Miller have become Of Counsel to the firm.
Ms. Filan joins the firm’s Family Law Group and will reside in the Westport office. Prior to joining Cohen and Wolf, Ms. Filan was an MSNBC senior legal analyst, an NBC News legal analyst and a Connecticut state prosecutor. She has appeared on many major tv networks, sharing her insights on a variety of high profile trials. The past several years, Ms. Filan was in private practice where she focused on matrimonial law and criminal defense, as both litigator and mediator.
Ms. Filan is a member of the Family and Criminal Law Sections of the Greater Bridgeport and Fairfield County Bar Associations. She is also a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Additionally, Ms. Filan serves as a special master appointed by the Superior Court to mediate divorce and custody disputes.
Ms. Filan is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, and the State of Connecticut. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Michigan, an M.A in Anthropology from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law.
Mr. Miller joins the firm’s Litigation and Bankruptcy Groups and will reside in both the Bridgeport and Westport offices. Prior to joining Cohen and Wolf, Mr. Miller was associated with a law firm in Norwalk, Connecticut representing individuals and businesses in a wide range of complex litigation matters. His most recent cases have included construction litigation, contract disputes, business torts, employment disputes, real property litigation, foreclosures, and landlord/tenant disputes. Mr. Miller has significant litigation and appellate experience, as well as considerable experience representing creditors and debtors in bankruptcy proceedings. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Miller served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Susan Peck.
Mr. Miller is admitted to practice in Connecticut, New York, the District of Columbia, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is a member of the American, New York, Connecticut, Fairfield County and Greater Bridgeport Bar Associations. Mr. Miller holds a B.A. in Economics and Philosophy from Skidmore College and a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law.
