Cohen and Wolf Welcomes Tammy Denease to Present on the Connecticut Freedom Trail as Part of Black History Month

02.22.2024

In recognition of Black History Month, Cohen and Wolf welcomed Tammy Denease, Outreach Director for the Connecticut Freedom Trail, to present our February 2024 Lunch & Learn.

Tammy shared the stories of Mary and Elizabeth Freeman, Marian Anderson, Asa Seymour Curtis, Constance Baker Motley, and others whose lives and legacies are connected to Connecticut.

The Connecticut Freedom Trail was established in 1995 by the Connecticut General Assembly.  Sites along the Trail offer accounts of the state’s Black and African American history, including stories of the Amistad, Civil Rights Movement, Concept of Freedom, and the Underground Railroad.  Tammy talked in depth about her efforts to preserve and share the history tied to each location.
