PHILIP C. PIRES is an associate in Cohen and Wolf, P.C.'s Litigation and Land Use and Zoning Groups. Resident in the Bridgeport office, Mr. Pires practices in the area of commercial litigation and land use law.
As an intern with the University of Connecticut School of Law Asylum and Human Rights Clinic, Mr. Pires represented an individual seeking political asylum in the United States and was responsible for all aspects of the asylum process. During law school he was a law clerk with Horton, Shields & Knox, P.C., in Hartford, where he worked on civil and criminal appeals.
Mr. Pires is admitted to practice in Connecticut. He is a member of the Connecticut and the Greater Bridgeport Bar Associations.
He received his B.A., in 2005, from Haverford College and his J.D., with honors, in 2008 from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he received a CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Constitutional Law. While in law school, he served as executive editor of the Connecticut Public Interest Law Journal and was a member of the Connecticut Moot Court Board.
