DAVID A. BALL is a principal in Cohen and Wolf, P.C.'s Litigation, Municipal, Securities, and Telecommunications & Utilities Groups. Resident in the firm's Bridgeport office, Mr. Ball practices in both state and federal court handling complex commercial litigation cases; shareholder and partnership disputes; business tort claims; securities fraud actions; and administrative appeals. Mr. Ball also litigates before the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc., as well as the American Arbitration Association. He frequently serves as local counsel on complex litigation matters.
Mr. Ball appears before state agencies including the Connecticut Siting Council, where he represented the Towns of Redding, Weston, and Wilton in connection with CL&P's controversial transmission line application in Fairfield County. He also represents the Town of Woodbridge before the Connecticut Siting Council in connection with CL&P's and UI's most recent application to construct a high-powered transmission line.
Active in the community, Mr. Ball serves on the regional board and executive committee of the Anti-Defamation League, chairing the Hate Crimes and Law Enforcement Task Force. Mr. Ball is also active with the Jewish Center for Community Services of Eastern Fairfield County, previously serving on its Board of Directors and chairing the Community Relations Commission and the Allocations Committee. Mr. Ball has moderated several debates among political candidates prior to local, state and federal elections.
Mr. Ball is admitted to practice in Connecticut and the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut. He is a member of the Greater Bridgeport, Connecticut and American Bar Associations and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. He is a founding member of the Business Law Section of the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association. Mr. Ball is a continuing contributor to the American Bar Association's Quarterly Analysis of State Securities Developments.
He received his B.A., cum laude, in 1988 from Brandeis University and his J.D. in 1991 from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
