Richard Slavin Comments on Madoff Scheme, Connecticut Post

The Madoff scheme "has all the hallmarks of con job," Attorney Richard Slavin told reporter Rob Varnon of the Connecticut Post when asked to comment on the alleged fraud. "He was so clean and trustworthy, and Madoff got the right people involved in the fund to make it seem more secure," said Slavin, who chairs the securities group at Cohen and Wolf and spent 11 years as a securities regulator. As a result of the scandal, Slavin predicts that the SEC will have to answer some questions over its failures while more regulations will probably be rolled out.
