Cohen and Wolf Hosts Annual Judges Reception for Greater Bridgeport Bar Association

On September 16, 2009 Cohen and Wolf hosted a Judges Reception for the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association at their Bridgeport office. This year judges from the Federal Court, as well as Connecticut Superior Court and Probate Court, attended. Among the guests were the Honorable Stefan Underhill from the United States District Court, District of Connecticut and Chief Justice Chase Rogers and Justice Joette Katz of the Connecticut Supreme Court along with 16 Superior Court and Probate Court Judges. In total, the event was attended by more than 80 people, including the judges and area lawyers.


Business After Hours at Cohen and Wolf's Orange Office   

More than 70 local business people and civic leaders attended the Orange Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours Reception on February 5, 2009, held at Cohen and Wolf's newly renovated office at 657 Orange Center Road. Vincent Marino is Managing Partner of the firm's Orange office and Town Attorney for Orange.

German Ghetto Reparations Clinic at Cohen and Wolf's Bridgeport Office

Cohen and Wolf partnered with Jewish Family Service of Greater Bridgeport to offer free legal assistance to local residents who survived the Holocaust and qualify for the latest round of reparation payments offered by the German government. "The German Ghetto Work Payment Program" was created in 2002 to compensate voluntary laborers most of whom were Jewish, who toiled in the ghettos. More than 24 local residents who qualified for the restitution were assisted by Cohen and Wolf attorneys at a Legal clinic on Sunday, September 14th in the firm's Bridgeport office. Associates Rachel Pencu and Jesse Langer coordinated the clinic with JFS with assistance from Faye Dion of Aetna Insurance Company in Hartford.

Attorneys Play Dodgeball to Benefit the Shehan Center

Cohen and Wolf reached the semi-finals in a field of 29 teams vying for the championship title in the third annual Cardinal Shehan Center Dodge Ball Tournament. Various companies throughout Fairfield County participated in the competition held on July 23, 2008 at Sacred Heart University. Jesse Langer led the firm's team which included Ari Hoffman, David Morosan, Jason Buchsbaum, Joe Schwartz, Lauren Walters and Austin Kim. The event raised about $16,000 for the Cardinal Shehan Center's After School and Saturday Program.

Attorneys Compete in the Great Sheehan Spelling Bee

Cohen and Wolf was one of 17 corporate teams that participated in the 14th Annual Great Shehan Spelling Bee event held on Tuesday, February 26 at the Bridgeport Holiday Inn. The Bee is a fundraiser for the Shehan Center’s After School and Saturday Program, which serves Bridgeport youth and families. Cohen and Wolf's cheerleading squad kept morale high as attorneys Stewart Edelstein, Courtney George, and Rick Slavin spelled their way to a third place finish.
