Ken Bernhard to Teach Iraqi Museum Curators About Copyright and Contract LawBridgeport, CT, August 6, 2007 - G. Kenneth Bernhard, principal at Cohen and Wolf, P.C., will be teaching a week-long seminar on copyright and contract law to the directors of Iraqi museums in Amman, Jordan later this month. The legal issues seminar is part of a three week seminar/workshop in which eight directors, representing museums from across Iraq, will participate from August 5 - August 25 at the United Nations headquarters in Amman. "I am excited and honored to help the Iraqi people re-establish their cultural identity in a peaceful way," said Mr. Bernhard, a resident of Westport, CT. "The museums and the treasures they preserve can play an important role in re-establishing normalcy in a country beleaguered by war." The workshop was created to introduce directors of museums in Iraq to management techniques meeting the highest international standards, to continue to reintegrate the museums in Iraq into the international museum community, and to assure the museum community in Iraq that, in spite of the current economic and political crisis in Iraq, their continued participation in the international museum community is necessary and welcomed by that community. The seminar has been organized under the auspices of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Culture. The seminar is being funded in part by a grant (Funds in Trust arrangement with UNESCO) by the Norwegian government.
