About Us

Community Involvement

Since the firm’s inception in 1951, the attorneys of Cohen and Wolf, P.C. have played vital roles in their communities.  At all levels of the firm, attorneys are encouraged to get involved in academic, civic, cultural, political and religious organizations that interest them.  As a result, many attorneys in the firm currently serve a variety of organizations in leadership capacities. Four Cohen and Wolf, P.C. attorneys received New Leaders of the Law awards in 2003 and 2004, (an awards program sponsored by the Connecticut Law Tribune) for their outstanding commitments to community endeavors.

The firm makes the contribution of time and talent on the part of its attorneys and staff a hallmark of its culture. In commemoration of Cohen and Wolf, P.C.’s 50th anniversary, for example, the firm sponsored a series of community projects to commemorate the occasion such as building an aviary for "rehabilitated" raptors at the Beardsley Zoo; donating legal services for the home ownership program of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bridgeport; sponsoring a benefit event for Connecticut Legal Services; and performing a work project at the Dorothy Day Hospitality House in Danbury.

The firm also demonstrates its commitment to public service by accepting a variety of cases on a pro bono basis through Connecticut Legal Services and other sources.  Cohen and Wolf, P.C. attorneys receive billable hour credit for time that they work on pro bono matters.
