COHEN AND WOLF ATTORNEYS RECOGNIZED FOR VOLUNTEERING IN BRIDGEPORT SCHOOLS

November 12, 2009

Eight attorneys from Cohen and Wolf, P.C. have been recognized by the Bridgeport Board of Education for mentoring students in the "We the People" program, a special civics program at two Bridgeport high schools. Cohen and Wolf started mentoring last year at Harding High School and has now expanded the mentor program to Central High School.

The volunteer attorneys from Cohen and Wolf include principal Dan Nagel, and associates Austin Kim, David Morosan, Phil Pires, Heather Spade, Beth Ullman and Lauren Walters.

"Cohen and Wolf is proud to be involved in such a worthwhile community service project," said Mr. Nagel. "We are continually impressed by how eager the students are to learn and what they have accomplished. Programs such as 'We the People' play an important role in creating and promoting responsible citizenship."

"We the People" is a nationally acclaimed civic education program presenting the history and philosophy of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. Its primary goal is to promote civic competence and responsibility among the nation's elementary and secondary students. At the end of the program, high school classes that work as cooperative teams compete at a statewide hearing in Hartford.

"We the People" is administered by The Connecticut Consortium for Law and Citizenship Education, Inc., a private, non-profit association that promotes and conducts law-related education programs and projects in Connecticut's public and private schools, courtrooms and communities.
