Cohen and Wolf's David Levine Elected Chairman of the Bridgeport Downtown Special Services District

David M. Levine, a Principal at Cohen and Wolf, P.C., has been elected Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Downtown Special Services District (DSSD) in Bridgeport.

The DSSD is a special taxing district that is directed by a board of nine commissioners who are elected by downtown property owners. The DSSD is charged with assisting in the transformation of downtown Bridgeport into a vibrant commercial and residential destination. He previously served as vice-Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Levine chairs Cohen and Wolf's Business & Corporate Group and Physicians Practices Group. His practice focuses on business, health care and real estate transactions, including acquisitions, financing, formation and structural issues related to business entities. Mr. Levine devotes a substantial portion of his practice to the legal relationships among physicians and the entities with whom physicians contract.

Mr. Levine is a past president of the Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce. He previously served as chair of its Economic Development Committee. He also served on the Executive Committee of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council (BRBC). Mr. Levine and his family live in Fairfield.

He received his A.B., magna cum laude, in 1983 from Brandeis University and his J.D. in 1986 from Boston University School of Law.
