Cohen and Wolf 's Vincent Marino Appointed by Gov. Rell to South Central Regional Water AuthoritySeptember 10, 2009 Vincent M. Marino, attorney at Cohen and Wolf, P.C. has been appointed by Connecticut Governor Jodi Rell as the Governor's Representative to the South Central Regional Water Authority. Mr. Marino will serve a three-year term on the Representative Policy Board that is charged with making appointments, setting rates and approving sale of lands and bonds. Mr. Marino is a principal in Cohen and Wolf's Litigation and Municipal Groups, working in both the Bridgeport and Orange offices where focuses on commercial litigation, construction, municipal law and bankruptcy. He is a resident of Orange, where he also serves as town attorney. "I am honored to be chosen by Governor Rell to represent the interests of the State and the local communities on the Regional Water Authority," said Mr. Marino. "The Authority, though it is not often in the news, provides an invaluable service to the community through treatment and delivery of water, as well as education and recreation." The South Central Regional Water Authority is a non-profit public corporation which supplies 55 million gallons of water a day on average to a population of almost 400,000 persons in 15 towns in the greater New Haven region. Its stated mission is to provide its customers with a reliable supply of high-quality water. In addition to providing water, the Authority offers hands-on water science programs to some 16,000 students annually at the Whitney Water Center in Hamden. The South Central Regional Water Authority owns more than 26,000-acres of land and provides a wide array of recreational opportunities and water-related services to the community. Mr. Marino received his B.A. in 1993 from the State University of New York at Binghamton and his J.D. in 1996 from Quinnipiac University School of Law. |
