STEWART I. EDELSTEIN is a principal and chair of Cohen and Wolf, P.C.'s Litigation Group and member of the Appellate Group. Resident in the firm's Bridgeport office, Mr. Edelstein has more than 30 years' experience representing clients in all aspects of commercial litigation. His clients include Fortune 500 and other national corporations as well as leading municipalities and notable individuals. Litigators at many prominent New York law firms call on him as local counsel in complex matters of all types. Mr. Edelstein also has extensive experience in construction litigation matters.

Mr. Edelstein was recently certified as a member of the American Arbitration Association's Commercial Panel. He has also taught Trial Practice at Yale Law School for more than a decade, and in 2008 was selected to teach the first Advanced Trial Practice course at Yale. Beginning in January 2009, he has taught Civil Litigation Practice at Yale Law School . Mr. Edelstein is a frequent faculty member at National Institute for Trial Advocacy seminars and at the Connecticut Trial Advocacy Institute. He regularly authors articles on litigation-related topics. Mr. Edelstein was recognized as a leading lawyer in Connecticut in the area of Commercial Litigation by the 2010 edition of Chambers USA - America's Leading Lawyers for Business.

Mr. Edelstein is admitted to practice in Connecticut; the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut; U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit; U.S. Supreme Court; U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York; and U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York. He is a member of the American, Connecticut and Greater Bridgeport Bar Associations, the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association for Justice . He has served on the Board of Directors of the Greater Bridgeport Symphony Orchestra, the Bridgeport Public Education Fund, and the Fairfield Historical Society.

Mr. Edelstein received his B.A., magna cum laude, in 1970 from Oberlin College and his J.D. in 1973 from Cornell University .
