Three Cohen and Wolf Attorneys Elected to the Connecticut Bar Foundation James W. Cooper Fellows Program

  • Bridgeport, Connecticut (April 25, 2014) – Attorney’s David A. Ball, Stewart I. Edelstein and Monte E. Frank of Cohen and Wolf, PC were elected 2014 Fellows of the Connecticut Bar Foundation James W. Cooper Fellows Program. “We are pleased to recognize our new Fellows for their distinguished services to our legal system and for their commitment to the principles of equal justice and the rule of law,” said Peter Arakas, President of the Connecticut Bar Foundation.

    • David A. Ball is managing partner of Cohen and Wolf and a principal in the firm's Litigation, Securities, and Telecommunications & Utilities Groups. He practices in state and federal court handling complex commercial litigation cases; shareholder and partnership disputes; business tort claims; securities fraud actions; and administrative appeals.
    • Stewart I. Edelstein is a principal and co-chair of Cohen and Wolf's Litigation Group and member of the Appellate Group. He has 40 years' experience representing clients in all aspects of commercial litigation, and has taught at Yale Law School for 20 years.
    • Monte E. Frank is a principal in Cohen and Wolf's Litigation and Municipal Groups. He represents business and municipal clients in the state and federal courts in Connecticut on a wide range of matters.

    The Connecticut Bar Foundation James W. Cooper Fellows Program was established to honor the leading members of the legal profession and the Judiciary in Connecticut, to promote a better understanding of the legal profession and the judicial system, and to explore ways to improve the profession and the administration of justice in Connecticut. Membership in the Fellows is by invitation only and is evidence of professional distinction. Thirty-four Fellows were elected this year. 

    The three attorneys were honored at a reception at the New Haven Lawn Club on April 24, 2014.

    The Fellows Program is now in its 19th year. In addition to lawyers in private practice, the group consists of U.S. Court of Appeals judges, U.S. District Court judges, Connecticut Supreme, Appellate, and Superior Court judges. It also includes corporate counsels and attorneys at corporations, heads of associations and corporations, directors and attorneys at legal services agencies, and lawyers in government. Further, it includes the deans, former deans, and professors of law at Connecticut’s law schools, past and current leadership of the Connecticut Bar Association, and numerous present and former government leaders.
