Cohen and Wolf Names Two New Principals
BRIDGEPORT, CT (December 31, 2012) – The law firm of Cohen and Wolf, P.C. is pleased to announce that Matthew C. Susman and Jason A. Buchsbaum have become principals of the firm, effective January 1, 2013.
Matthew C. Susman, resident in the firm's Bridgeport office, represents banks and other financial institutions in commercial lending transactions, including asset-based and real estate secured loans, and syndicated and club deals. He is actively involved in the representation of municipalities with respect to economic development and privatization projects, and bonding and other financing transactions. Mr. Susman also represents real estate developers, particularly with respect to financing and acquisition transactions. He advises business clients in matters concerning choice of entity and commercial loan transactions, asset and stock purchases and sales, and lease negotiations. Mr. Susman regularly advises individual clients with respect to a broad range of legal issues, including business formation and succession issues. Mr. Susman is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Real Estate Law and Banking and Finance Law, and received the prestigious AV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and received his law degree from the Fordham University School of Law.
Jason A. Buchsbaum, resident in the firm's Danbury office, represents individual, corporate and municipal clients, in a wide range of litigation matters including complex commercial disputes, business litigation, construction disputes, real property and title disputes, tax appeals, and municipal enforcement proceedings. Mr. Buchsbaum represents clients in state and federal court, in arbitration proceedings, and before various administrative agencies. He also regularly advises municipal and private clients with respect to local property tax and exemption issues, and advises municipalities on a variety of local matters. Mr. Buchsbaum has an AV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and has been designated a "Rising Star" by Connecticut Super Lawyers. He received his B.A., magna cum laude, in 2002 from the George Washington University and his J.D. with high honors in 2005 from the University of Connecticut School of Law.
