Cohen and Wolf Major Sponsor of Town of Orange 190th Birthday Bash, Concert & Fireworks Display
What better way to celebrate a 190th birthday than with loved ones, toe-tapping music and “bombs bursting in air?”
That’s what’s on tap for the “Town of Orange 190th Birthday Bash”, planned to kick off at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 7 at the Orange Fairgrounds, 525 Orange Center Road. The anniversary celebration will begin with a short ceremony at the Gazebo with remarks from First Selectman Jim Zeoli followed by the annual “Independence Day Concert and Fireworks Display”. This year’s band will be local favorite and Mohegan Sun Casino regular, “The Bernadettes”, a soul-loving, rhythm and blues band. The eight member group performs its own unique version of R&B and rock classics from James Brown, Otis Redding, Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, Earth, Wind and Fire to Motown hits, contemporary funk, and a large, dance-oriented song list. The concert is scheduled to run from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. followed by a half hour fireworks display beginning at 9:30 p.m.
