CLIFFORD A. MERIN is an associate in the firm’s LitigationEmployment & LaborFamily Law and Criminal Law Groups. Resident in the firm's Bridgeport office, Mr. Merin practices in the areas of commercial litigation, municipal litigation, employment litigation, and landlord/tenant litigation. Prior to joining Cohen and Wolf, P.C., Mr. Merin was an associate at a New Haven based law firm where his practice focused on a broad range of civil litigation matters. He also served as a research clerk at the New Haven Superior Court.

Mr. Merin earned his J.D. from New York Law School in 2010. During law school, he was an Executive Board Member of the Moot Court Association. He received the Morris Orland Award for Excellence in Written and Oral Advocacy and was a 2008 recipient of the Alumni Association Scholarship. Additionally, Mr. Merin hosted a cable television talk show discussing a variety of legal issues. He earned his B.A. from the University of Massachusetts in Journalism and Near Eastern Studies, magna cum laude.

Mr. Merin is admitted to practice in Connecticut and New York, as well as the U.S. District Court, District Court of Connecticut and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, the New Haven County Bar Association, the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce and the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Merin is recognized as a "Rising Star" by Connecticut Super Lawyers (2018) in the area of General Litigation, and in 2019, Mr. Merin was recognized by the Connecticut Law Tribune as a "New Leader in the Law".

Active in his community, Mr. Merin served as the Vice-Chair of the Solid Waste Commission for the Town of Branford and he currently volunteers as a boys basketball coach in Guilford.
